Spring Break Day 3 - Leaving Athens and heading to Mount Olympus

Yes, I understand the blogs are slowly coming in, but today I am working on getting them all updated.
On day three of spring break we split our group up and some of us went to Mount Olympus and the others went to other cities on the coast of Greece.
Our group that was heading to Mount Olympus got up around 8:30 am. We made sure we were all packed up and ready to leave before we left to go sight-see a little bit more. We headed to the centre again. On our walk to the centre we came across some government building with a beautiful fountain in front of it. We took some pictures here. Then we noticed that Hadrian's Arch was not too far from where we were at so we headed there and also happened to see the Temple of Zeus at the same time. I couldn't believe I was really standing in front of it! The ruins were so huge. It was very hard to imagine the people actually using the temple because it seems so surreal. Zeus was the Kind of the Olympian Gods. Hadrian's Arch was supposedly built to honor the Roman Emperor Hadrian, who completed the construction of the Temple of Zeus. After we saw those things we decided we had better double check Dee's information about train times and such. Right across the street just happened to be a travel information center. Well, the train times were wrong that we had and so we had to hurry back to the hostel and then run to the metro to get to the train station. The metro was super fast and took us right to Larissa Station. I was very tired of holding my bag. The best news of the day came when we tried to buy our tickets to Katerini. We had to buy first class tickets because there were no economy tickets left. It was a little bit more expensive. Once we were on the train it was worth it because we had nice big comfy seats, we weren't packed in like everybody else. We also got free juice and a snack. During the train ride I realized how dirty Greece is when you are outside of the cities. People just throw garbage where ever there is an open field. There was a couple in my carriage that spoke a small amount of English, which was nice because they helped us figure out some things. The train station in Katerini was a lot smaller than we had expected. We also did not have money and there was no atm. It actually turned out to be a good thing that we did not buy tickets for the way back because we left from a different station that we thought we were going to use. We took a very nice bus to the town we thought our hostel was in at the base of Mount Olympus. It was a Mercedes Benz, a small relaxation after a long day. But once we got to the town it turns out that our hostel was actually in a town about five minutes away called Gritsa. We were the only people staying at the hostel the whole weekend. Perri was the owner and he was a very helpful guy. He dubbed the name Ed for the weekend because he was the opposite of Dee. Once we were somewhat settled in we went down to the lounge, sat by the fire, played cards, and ate pizza that "Ed" made for us.
