We got up pretty early to go see the Pope. The audience started at 10:30 am, but I wanted to be there around 8:30 am. We actually got really good seats, they were really close. We even sat by other people from the States. It was nice hearing their American accents. They also gave us some tips on where to go and not to go while we were waiting. There were a ton of people to see the audience. Quite a few of the girls didn't realize how big of a deal it was until we got there and they saw all the people. There was also a lot of security and bodyguards. The Pope rolled in on his "Pope Mobile" and drove around and waved to everybody. It was so awesome! Then they did some readings in many different languages and recognized some of the groups that were in the audience. Some of the girls left early because they didn't care to watch the whole thing. After it was done the other girls and I grabbed some pizza-to-go for lunch and were on our way to the Colosseum. We got off the metro right in front of it. It was so huge! There were also a lot of people here. The girls and I just walked around and took it all in. We met up with the few that left afterwards and then walked around Palentine Hill and some other ruins. By this time I was getting super tired, but Ally and I did some souvenir shopping which made me feel better and picked me up. We shopped our way to the Trevi Fountain, threw our coins in and made our wishes. We wanted to see it at night so we grabbed some supper around the area then headed back to take some more pictures. It had gotten quite late so on we wandered back to the hostel, but before we did we stopped at the Spanish Steps. I was very exhausted from the long day so I just checked my email and went to bed.
