Day 6 - Leaving Athens and flying to Rome, Italy!

Day six of spring break, Tuesday, March 23.
Today we were leaving to go to Rome, Italy and our flight left around 2 pm.
We were up around 9 am and decided to walk around the area of our hostel, I was looking to buy some Greek beads. We also wanted to hit up the bakery, again. Two of the girls had stayed behind to finish getting ready, we were just going to meet up at the airport with them. We didn't find the beads so we just went back to the hostel to get ready to leave by 10:30 am. As soon as we had gotten back to the hostel one of the other girls called us saying Sanci could not find her wallet anywhere. They asked if we would look in the hostel room again. Well it wasn't there either. Needless to say, Sanci was pick-pocketed some time the day before. So now we were late and decided to speed-walk/run all the way to the metro, which was located in the city centre. It was a long haul with all of our luggage! I was super sweaty and everybody thought it was funny. But when we got to the metro we found out that the workers were going on strike so we had to take the bus to the airport. Then we had to hike back up the stairs to the centre to the bus stop. It was a very long bus ride and we were getting a little nervous because it was getting closer and closer to 2:00. We made it there with just enough time to get through security and such, but then we had to help Sanci figure out what to do about getting money and calling home. Once we boarded it did not take long to fly from Athens to Rome, Italy. We had decided to just pay a driver to take us to our hostel because it was so much easier. We stayed at Happy Days Hostel. That night we got our tickets to go see the Pope the next day and went out to eat at a real Italian restaurant. I had PIZZA! mmmm. Then afterwards we decided on gelatto also because of our stressful day. Once at the hostel we all were trying to use the computers because there was actually WIFI and free computers to use.
