First Extended Weekend - Dublin, Ireland, Feb. 12-15

Friday - I was woke up by my roommates getting ready to leave at 3:30 am! I was not too impressed with them because I had to be up at 4:30 am. I eventually did fall asleep, but woke up paranoid that I had over slept and missed my taxi and flight. After waking completely up, I realized that I did not miss either and was up at 4:30 like I was supposed to be. I had made three peanut, butter and jelly's the night before and ended up eating two for breakfast, but was ready and waiting for the taxi at 5 am with the rest of the girls. It was so crazy riding in the taxi because it was my first car ride where they drive on the left side of the road. We made it to the airport safe and sound and got through security just fine. Even though I had put my water bottle in my bag earlier that morning and had to leave that at the airport because you can't have that much liquid in your carry-on. I would also like everyone to know that I packed for a four day weekend in my BOOK BAG! :) Our flight went well and we arrived in Dublin around 8:30 am. We took the bus from the airport to the hostel. I was super nervous to see the hostel! My first idea of them was creepy and gross, but this hostel was nothing like that! The hostel was very secure, you had to get buzzed in by the front desk and there were card scanners to get into the actual room areas and the rooms themselves. Our room had 6 bunk beds and for the first two nights we had three roommates and the last night we had two other girls.
After we checked in to the hostel we wandered around trying to find a cafe to eat lunch at and what sites to see. The cafe had great sandwiches and the man was very nice; he tried to help us out and tell us where to head to, but the streets were very confusing at first. So for the afternoon we just wandered around and found the City Gallery and Writer's Museum. Later that night we went out to the pub, Murray's, for supper and drinks. The pub was a great time, there ended up being real Irish Dancers. I had pasta and two ciders, but it was very expensive. TWENTY EUROS! :O
