Well, I have made it to Scotland and to the Castle. Grandma Prokop drove me down to the airport and made sure I was off on my way. The whole morning was pretty emotional for me, but I left O'Hare at 4:35pm on January 27th and arrived in Edinburgh 8:30 am. There is a 6 hour time difference.I am ahead of the U.S. Sitting in the airport lounge was pretty boring, but I did talk to a girl who is doing the same program and now during our time at the castle so far I have talked to her some more. On my flights I was very pampered. I ate supper and breakfast on the plane, watched the movie Fame, and was even given a pillow and blanket. I didn't use the pillow much, only got around 2 hours of sleep in the past 24 hours, for sleeping because I wasn't tired because I hadn't adjusted to the time yet. Everyone in the program that arrived in Edinburgh in the morning had to wait for the shuttle to come get us at 12:15 p.m. and then we were on our way to the CASLTE! The castle is huge and very cold because of it. I am wearing long underwear as I type this. I can't wait for spring! :) In the front yard are some horses and Scottish Highlanders, how appropriate. My room is ginormous and there are four other girls living with me in it. Today has been a very long day, so off to bed I go!

ReplyDeleteHi Celsey! Glad your journey to the castle was uneventful. It's the end of the first week of classes here and the office is very busy. Having problems with the Dean's List file, go figure! Stay safe, explore, enjoy and absorb it all. Oh, yes, and take lots of photos! Looking forward to your next post.
